You

Experience.
We were the first weight loss program in the Rocky
Mountain region. We have been doing weight loss
surgery since 1994 and have performed over 2000
surgeries to date, and counting. We are referred
high-risk patients other surgeons will not perform
due to their complexity. This speaks to our comfort
level in taking care of any problem that is present
or might develop. Many surgeons are not confident
in their ability to take care of these types of
patients.
2.
Dedication.
Using a Total Quality of Care approach, our program
is continually striving to be better. We have
monthly meetings that involve all levels of patient
care: from the office to the operating room to
the president of the hospital, all areas are covered.
We
have always taken care of all people who need
treatment. We are the only group in the West to
take Medicaid patients. We have always taken Medicare
patients – even when obesity was not officially
recognized as a disease and therefore payment
was not certain. It is important for us to give
the best possible care for this disease.
3.
Dependability.
We have the largest practice in the region with
four dedicated surgeons. This means there is always
an expert available when needed. All surgeons are
members of the ASBS.
All surgeons continue to be active with many other
types of surgery. This means they can deal with
any other surgical problems that might come up,
including removing excess skin or the gallbladder,
if needed.
4.
Center
of Excellence. We have independent verification
of quality. This looks at everything involved in
patient care: from treating patients with dignity
and respect, to having the appropriate equipment
and furniture, to having good results and outcomes.
We are the only program in the region to have all
three designations: ASBS, Blue Cross/Blue Shield,
and Cigna.
